Vegan Christmas gift guide
Vegan Christmas gift guide
Being vegan on Christmas can be really tough. Between being surrounded by dead animals all day to people having no clue what to gift you (not saying that gifts are absolutely essential, but so many useless gifts are around and what a waste!) and giving you stuff you will NEVER use (like an egg yolk separator… yup, I’ve had that!) or even don’t want with the full force of your being (leather stuff, again, speaking from experience), it can be hard to navigate. And it can be hard to navigate for your friends and family too!
So whether you’re a vegan looking for gifts to ask for yourself, a vegan looking for gifts for others, or a non vegan looking for gifts for vegans, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve summed up some of my favourite vegan friendly gifts below.
Vegan food
There is probably not better gift than food… Consumable so won’t clutter, delicious, can be vegan and zero waste… I don’t know what’s not to love about food.
First off - CAKES of course! From beautifully decorated vegan cookies to boxes filled with treats, all zero waste, vegan and colourful, one offs or subscriptions, there is no way the recipient of these gifts wouldn’t jump of joy.
Other fabulous vegan food options include vegan friendly pop corn that unicorns would LOVE to eat.
Baobab jams and spreads… say WHAT?! These look absolutely incredible. Artisan made and vegan friendly.
You can also email a local vegan restaurant / take away / caterer. They more than probably sell gift vouchers (I do!) and will be incredibly grateful for the support too, so you make more than one person’s Christmas!
Home decor and accessories
An avocado mat… because if you’re vegan, you must love avocados, right? A little wink that vegans won’t resist.
Beautiful planters and decor accessories made in eco friendly cork in London, which would look fabulous in anyone’s living space, and fit perfectly in a vegan lifestyle.
A Dog hair don’t care keyring, because as vegans, we love dogs. Animals are all amazing.
A vegan mug
I love Punky Bunny’s designs - they are so retro and fun. My favourite is for sure this gorgeous mug - she also sells prints, phone cases, badges, pins, keyrings and more! Perfect gift for a vegan, and you know you’re supporting a fully vegan business too.
Vegan books
There are so many different vegan books available - people tend to think of vegan cookbooks straight away, but you can also think outside the box - Sara Botero released a Guide that is lovely for everyone, vegan, new vegan, vegan curious. A more political and fabulous read is Carol Adams’ masterpiece, The Sexual politics of meat.
Vegan clothes
Qitiji is an amazing vegan, sustainable and intersectional feminist and she creates adorable clothes and prints, as well as cards. I’ve chosen to feature this stunning hoodie because it’s my fave, but everything she does is great.
Plant-faced clothing and their amazing kale crop top (lots more when that came from).
Beyond skin create beautiful ethical shoes - all vegan, all made in Europe. They offer so many different styles, there is no way you won’t find something you love there.
Vegan skincare and pamper goodies
One of my absolute FAVOURITES is of course Miss Patisserie UK (right hand side) because LOOK AT THESE. How amazing do they look? All vegan bath products, and some shower ones too. I've chosen one to display here but if I’m honest, I’m in love with them all.
I also stumbled upon Love Rems that are handmade, natural and made in the UK (and of course, vegan) skincare products. They sell them in individual bits, or in packs like this beautiful one!
If you know me you’ll know I’m not big on skincare - but I’ve started using Novel Skincare every once in a while as my skin tends to be really dry, and I just fell in love with their products. Beautiful and very mellow scents (nothing to give you a headache or divert from your natural smell), creamy textures, and the most stunning packaging (and branding) there is. I cannot praise them enough - I just love them.
Maison de Tourmentin do beautiful handmade candles - a minimalist and black aesthetic which will look stunning in any type of home, and help relax and unwind.
I hope this list of appropriate vegan gifts has given you lots of ideas for this Christmas, whether it is to put on your own list or to gift others! I’m so excited about Christmas this year, 2020 has been hard enough and I think we should grab every little reason to celebrate and make a BIG deal out of all of it 💜
