VEGAN WEDDING FAVOURS
Because one cake is never, ever enough
(Plus, they’re zero waste!)
Question: what was the last wedding favour you received at a wedding?
A little bar of soap with the couple’s wedding date etched into it? A painted peg? A dinky bottle of sloe gin? Now, I’m not knocking any of those (especially not the gin...yum), but when it comes to wedding favours, nothing beats something bespoke, original and seriously charming. You don’t want to do what everyone else has done: you want to do you.
Bespoke wedding favours are kinda my thing. I love wedding details and wedding favours are kind of the original detail-driven feature. I’m a big believer in having wedding favours you can consume straight away as part of the experience, too. Gorgeously decorated, lovingly baked little slices of gorgeousness always make for an elegant touch of magic for your wedding day. They always make great talking points. It’s so much better than a keyring with the wedding date on it that you immediately lose in the car on your way home while hungover and craving a fry-up. (Side bar: who needs a keyring reminder of someone else’s wedding date? Surely that’s not a date you need to remember for the next decade or so?)
I’ve created all sorts over the years: the traditional sugar cookie revisited to fit your theme and wedding; epic mini chocolate bars to match your wedding colours that can be filled with sprinkles, marshmallows and biscuits; mini sweet bags filled with different little bite size treats; mini cake jars. All zero waste, all delightful. And of course, we can explore more ideas!
I’m a strident spokeswoman for sustainable, environmentally-friendly baking and my business operates on a strictly green basis. I use limited plastics, recycle whenever possible and run an entirely plant-based kitchen. What can I say? Green’s my colour, baby.
Colour? YES.
Wild and wonderful flavours? HELLS YES.
Something so mad you’re not even sure it’s physically possible? TRY ME.
I will do my very best to make your wildest, sweetest dreams a reality. It’s the stuff dreams (and the best bits of my portfolio) are made of.
The vibe I like to help create for your guests is one of being in a wondrous, magical sweetie factory. A bit like Willie Wonka’s but without the, frankly, unhygienic-looking chocolate river, the terrible, sugar-crazed children or any mild overtones of human trafficking (you can’t tell me those Oompa Loopas willingly work for free). Your guests should feel completely enchanted by the sugary treats on offer. I want them to be talking about it for years to come.
I want you to come at me with every weird and wonderful idea you’ve got. The thing that sets me apart from other wedding bakers is that I’m wildly, unashamedly creative. I think outside the box and encourage you to do so at every opportunity. Don’t be shy. There’s nothing I won’t at least try.
