SMALL WEDDING CAKES
Small wedding cakes are as awesome as big ones
Couples often think that, if they elope or have an intimate wedding, they probably shouldn’t and won’t have a wedding cake. That they’ll have doughnuts, or brownies, or cupcakes. If you don’t want a wedding cake, that’s fair enough - but most of the times, they choose not to have one for the wrong reasons.
On your wedding day, here are the things that matter:
you having a good time
the people you love having a good time
having a full belly and a full heart
NOT having the biggest, the most expensive, the grandest, the whateverest cake, if that’s not your jam. Having a small cake doesn’t prevent you and your guests from having a good time, and filling up your belly and heart.
There is no reason, if you are having a small wedding or doing an elopement, to scrape the idea of having a fab cake, that reflects you and your wedding.
And there is no point in having so much cake that you have lots of unwanted leftovers (I said unwanted - some of my couples choose to overcater on purpose, buy biodegradable boxes or paper bags and everyone gets to go home with cake for the next morning. GENIUS) and waste. The cakes pictured above feed roughly 25-35 people, depending on how generous you are with your cutting. See? Small and mighty! Don’t feel pressured by any of these three tier traditions - your cake could be one tier, two, three, five, eighteen. As long as it represents you - you’re good.
